Про пригоди Вінні-Пуха все ми знаємо з дитинства. Але це не просто милі історії для малят, це ще і відмінний підручник англійської. Дивовижні стилістичні звороти, гра слів і несподівані висновки роблять цю книгу цікавою для людей будь-якого віку. Вінні-Пух іноді здається справжнім філософом і деякі його роздуми про життя можуть виявитися корисними і для нас.

3. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (J.K. Rowling)
Складно відразу сказати, в чому секрет популярності книг про Гаррі Поттера, але в них напевно прихована якась магія – багато дітей в Україні та інших країнах починають читати по-справжньому саме з цих творів. Хоча ця серія спочатку створена для підлітків, але вона не поступається кращим класичним творам в жанрі фентезі. Якщо ви дивилися фільми про Гаррі Поттера, вам буде неважко прочитати книгу, тому що ви добре уявляєте, про що в ній йдеться.

4. Airport (Arthur Hailey)
Артур Хейлі – справжній майстер своєї справи. Він вміє барвисто й захоплююче описувати досить нудні, на перший погляд, речі – роботу авіадиспетчерів або технологічні процеси в збірці автомобілів. З перших же сторінок читач повністю занурюється в атмосферу маленького аеропорту, який зіткнувся з великими труднощами. Для тих, хто вивчає англійську ця книга становить інтерес як джерело безлічі мовних ситуацій на робочому місці: спілкування з клієнтами, обговорення проектів, рішення проблем і т.д.

Господар будинку виявився дуже незвичайним, похмурим, запальним, але цікавою і сильною людиною. Як ви вже здогадалися, за законами жанру вони просто зобов’язані полюбити один одного, проте в цій історії не все так просто. Починайте читати і переконайтеся в цьому самі. Крім того, якщо вас цікавить життя вікторіанської Англії, з цього роману ви дізнаєтеся багато нового і, можливо, навіть захочете обговорити зі своїм викладачем на занятті.

Головний герой – адвокат Аттікус Фінч – людина совісті, не здатний терпіти несправедливість і прагне захистити невинну людину, відстояти правду і вчинити відповідно до своїх ідеалів. Цьому він вчить і своїх дітей, які виявляються в самому центрі подій в маленькому південному містечку і сприймають все, що відбувається особливо емоційно.
